FW: Free speech battle pits mom vs. Web

Interesting First Amendment case involving the internet. An elected
official wants the identity of a person who posted disturbing comments
about her son revealed to her. The Judge in Cook County, Illinois
ordered Comcast to give the name of the person to the Judge. The Judge
will now hear arguments over whether the name should be revealed to the
elected official.

Buffalo Grove village trustee seeks identity of person who posted
'disturbing' comment about her son

During a rough-and-tumble election last spring, someone anonymously
posted "deeply disturbing" online comments about the teenage son of
Buffalo Grove Village Trustee Lisa Stone. Now, she is waging a legal
battle to learn the identity of that person -- known to her as
"Hipcheck16."
